Your guests bring the new ones — in a traceable chain
In the referral system every guest has a referral code: the one who invites and the one who is invited both get a reward, and the chain stays traceable end to end. You know who brings new people in — you don't have to guess.
Who it is for
For a new venue or a new location where the regular crowd still has to be built, and for every bar, café or festival where guests arrive in groups anyway. If your place lives on recommendations, this is what makes measurable what used to be word of mouth.
How it works
Everyone gets a code
A registered guest's referral code sits in the app, so there's no paper coupon to print and no poster nobody photographs. All they have to do is pass it on.
The reward works both ways
Both the invited guest and the inviter get something — you set the condition and the size of the reward, and it can be converted into credit. That turns a recommendation from a favour into a worth-it decision on the guest's side.
The chain stays traceable
Which code brought the new guest, and what came of them: it's in the same database as orders, campaigns and credit. You see not only how many invitations happened, but how much they brought. Referral stops being a marketing feeling and becomes a line in the report.
What you get out of it
You're not buying an audience
With ads you pay again for every single new person. In the referral system your existing guests work for you, and the reward lands with them, not with an ad platform.
The new guest doesn't start from zero
Someone arriving with a code enters with an account and a reward, so even their first visit is loyalty data: from there they can be segmented, targeted with campaigns, put into a challenge. You don't have to get to know them from scratch.
You see who your real advocates are
The chain shows who actually moves other people — and that isn't necessarily whoever spends the most with you. You can address them separately.
More codes, more occasions
Automatic promo codes go out in response to an event — registration, inactivity, a birthday — and multi-use codes can carry a longer campaign. Referral doesn't have to stay a one-off push.

Frequently asked questions
What stops people from abusing it?
Codes are tied to guest accounts and every invitation is in the chain, so an unusual pattern shows up instead of getting lost in the noise. You also set whether a code can be used once or several times, and when the reward is due. The reward can be attached to the moment you genuinely consider valuable, not simply to forwarding the code.
What about GDPR?
Data handling, consent and the deletion process are documented throughout, and guest data lives in your system, not on an ad platform. Anyone who has registered with you is someone you can reach — this is your own channel, and the guest can see what they consented to.
Does my staff have to deal with it?
Sharing and redeeming the code is digital, so there's nothing extra to do at the counter. In the staff training that comes with launch we do go through with your team what guests may ask and what they see on their own phone — in the same round as the opening campaign.
How does it connect to campaigns?
Referral works on its own, but it delivers most when scheduled push and email back it up: a reminder for someone who hasn't passed their code on yet, a welcome message for someone who has just arrived. You schedule both in the same backoffice.
